This iconic hand made bag was designed in 1901 and is indeed the first soft sided piece LV made, giving birth to the keepall and speedy and today’s modern hand bag.
Originally designed to fold flat in the bottom of a steamer trunk and hang on the cabin door of a cruise ship, where you would place used laundry, or to carry on deck as a large luggage holdall.

Completely made by hand with saddle stitched base and corners, it is one of the reasons why it’s hardly been copied due to its complexity and craftsmanship .

It fits a surprising amount inside and is the only soft sided luggage we offer.
